Eddie Murphy’s “A Thousand Words” Release Date Pushed Back To Exploit Oscar Gig

Eddie Murphy's "A Thousand Words" Release Date Pushed Back To Exploit Oscar Gig

Originally scheduled to be released in January, Paramount has pushed the release date for A Thousand Words back even further, to March 23rd instead.

As THR notes, this new date is AFTER Eddie Murphy’s Academy Awards hosting gig, so do the math… clearly, the hope is that Eddie will be a hit as Oscar host on February 27th, which will then translate to increased interest in and awareness of the film when it’s released about 3 weeks later.

Still… if it stinks, it stinks.

I wish Eddie Murphy would do movies for adults again like he used to and ceases doing children’s films. It would be sad and disappointing if he doesn’t.

Everyone is ready to give up on him. He has alienated his fanbase for years and has made many lousy children’s movies and rarely does films for adults anymore.
