“Top Gun” Being Converted To 3D For 2012 Re-Release (Survey Time!)

"Top Gun" Being Converted To 3D For 2012 Re-Release (Survey Time!)

So… it was already announced that James Cameron mega-grossing hit Titanic is being converted to 3D for a spring 2012 release; now this news drops: Tony Scott’s 1986 classic Top Gun starring Tom Cruise is being converted to 3D for a theatrical release.

Apparently, a preview of the converted film – specifically, an aerial flight sequence from the film – was screened today at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam, and must have been very-well received that Paramount is moving ahead with a full conversion of the film which will be re-released some time next year.

Yay? No. Not for me anyway.

I’ll skip this one, just like I plan to skip the Titanic 3D re-release. You?

But it got me thinking… if you could take any past film and convert to 3D for re-release, what film (or films) would that be?

I don’t want to be a ‘part of the action’ (3D), I just like viewing the action (not 3D)—the difference between movie-going and movie-experiencing, I think.

What wouldn’t I mind seeing in 3D from movies past? Hmmm. Let me think. “Citizen Kane”.

Just kidding. I’m not a 3D fan. I don’t crave it, don’t want it, don’t need it.

You’ll see. By next year, they’ll be thinking about making “Top Gun vs. Red Tails”; and all the Red Tails will perish in the first 15 minutes of the film.

Really??? Hollywood has become stale and needs a shot in the ass. 3D is so overrated… SMDH.

I don’t give a crap about 3D. *shrugs*
