Watch: Katherine Heigl Basically Remakes 'The Bounty Hunter' With 'One For The Money' Trailer

Katherine Heigl has never been one to push the boundaries of her acting. Ever since “Knocked Up” — her first major big screen stint outside of her starmaking turn on “Grey’s Anatomy” — she has excelled at playing well-dressed, but frosty bitches in one film after another with a mostly successful score card. Not counting “Knocked Up,” which was sold on the Apatow brand, Heigl had a major high with the $200 million worldwide “The Ugly Truth,” and even supposed “failures” like “Killers” or “Life As We Know It” wound up making around $100 million each worldwide anyway. So clearly, there are people who love to see Heigl do her thing. But will they like her with a Jersey accent?

Which brings us to “One for the Money,” another dreadful-looking outing from the actress that will still likely do okay business if only because Hollywood still thinks making decent movies for women instead of teenage boys is a waste of time. Based on the book by Janet Evanovich, the film centers on a newly-divorced, recently laid-off 30-year-old (Heigl) in New Jersey who becomes a bounty hunter for a bail bondsman. The twist? She has to track down her former lover! Apparently, selling lingerie at Macy’s is enough of a requirement to be given a gun and legally allowed to track people. Even if you give that gun to relatives to play with at the dinner table. Anyway, this all boils down to being a more accented remake of “The Bounty Hunter” with the gender roles switched and some guy named Jason O’Mara in the co-lead role. Clearly, Heigl wants the spotlight to herself.

After shuffling a few dates around, “One for the Money” will try and take yours on January 27, 2012. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

I completly agree with the whole idea of the one for the money being a complete remake of Katherine Heigl. Mind you, Im not completely blaming Heigl for always choosing cheesy chick flicks; she makes good money and sometimes it feels better to be safe then take a chance. And to comment on how this movie used to be a book well all I have to say to that is its great that it was a book but the movie is still exactly like the bounty hunter and Ill say it again if I have to ya there is some differences but the plot is the SAME.

I’ll never understand why Katherine Heigl, Vin Diesel, or Twilight fans even frequent this site. It’s kinda obvious this site is mainly devoted to cinema and not interchangeable mainstream garbage, which Heigl wears the queens crown of. If I wanna read about, or hear, good artistic music I don’t go to or turn on the radio expecting to be satisfied. Most of these people would be served reading mtv movie news, E!, or aintitcool.

It is nothing like the Bounty Hunter and is based on a series of book that have sold 75 million copies. This story was written in the early 90s. Sorry but typical Heigl hating bs from the media. So tired of it.

Why is everyone hating on this movie? It’s an adaptation of a very popular book, not a remake of the bounty hunter. And I think it actually looks like it will be good……… people need to get over their heigl hate

Katherine Heigl is really stunning and very talented. She is incredible and she is amazing. It’s an exceptional performance, just wonderful.

I think all Heigl-related posts should include the Onion skit they did on her movies.,19824/

I love how Katherine Heigl, Jason O’Mara, Daniel Sunjata, and Debra Monk all starred on “Grey’s Anatomy” together at one point. What is this, a “Grey’s Anatomy” mini-reunion for Katie?

following up on what chase said the director has directed 5 eps. of Grey’s An. over a three year period
