Dule Hill Reveals What To Expect From His Character On "Psych" This Season

I have to admit, I still haven’t had time to sit down and watch a full episode of Psych and, based on the recommendations of some of our S&A readers, I should be. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to catch up soon because Dule Hill‘s character Gus will be getting “kissy-face” this season.

The USA network show revolves around a novice sleuth named Shawn Spencer, played by James Roday, who’s hired by the police after he cons them into thinking he has psychic powers that help solve crimes. With the assistance of his reluctant best friend Burton ‘Gus’ Guster (Hill) the duo take on a series of complicated cases.

Season six premiere’s this Wednesday, October 12.

@Tamara, yeah I loved both Ernie Hudson and Keith David in the role.

And yes, I would like to see Gus getting some lovin’ from a sista. :)

I love the show but I just hope they can get some sistas for a brotha this season. Kerry has pretty much been the only black love interest he’s had on the show besides the Boyz II Men episode. There are plenty out of work black actresses who would love to be on this show.

LOL I thought I was the only one who watched this. No one else I know does. I love Sean and Gus.

@ IJ, Kerry was so much fun in that episode! They should reprise her role and bring back her parents. Telma had me lol-ing all over the place with her line, “I like my wine like I like my men…white and hairy.” Then Shawn spits out his wine. It was just so ridiculous (her statement and Shawn’s reaction to it) that I cried laughing. It made no sense in the context of the scene, especially given the fact that her husband, while the owner of the gallery was neither hairy nor white. LOL Just foolishness all around but well-written and highly enjoyable.

@ Misha, I loved both Christmas episodes with the Gusters. And wasn’t even mad when “Daddy Guster” went from being portrayed by Ernie Hudson to Keith David. Both were fun in the role. I love how this show references pop culture and how they have SO MANY CAMEOS!!! I mean, the episode with Carl Weathers and William Devane!?!?! That was so classic! (Just because it seemed like Gus and Shawn in the future when they’re older). Such a light-hearted, fun show. Definitely good for marathon Sunday-afternoon viewing. Juliet and Shawn BORE ME and are part of the reason why Season 5 wasn’t “as good”…that coupled with the fact that they switched “young Shawn”, but they had to, that kid has grown! Too old, too tall for the part.

Say what, Cynthia? You still have watched? Imma hurt you! LOL It’s such a fun, witty/quirky show. I love it.

Looking forward to seeing Gus get “kissy face.” Not all that interested in Juliet and Shawn. Now Shawn and Gus’ sister had a lot of potential. I loved that Christmas episode with Gus’ family…one of my favorites!

@Tamara I love the show too. I’m in love with the lovely and talented Kerry Washington, and it was great to see her on there. Really looking forward to the new season.

He’s so cute! Love him.

Still love the show, though it’s changed. Gus has had a couple two/three girlfriend flings/encounters, the first being in season 2 I believe with Kerry Washington. HILARIOUS. Kerry was so great and the episode was a good one: also starring Obba Babatunde and Telma Hopkins.

I love shows like this where the ‘bro-friendship’ is front and center. Usually when they introduce a love interest for either of the ‘bros’ it’s either loved or hated by fandom (see Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Heroes, Chuck, Psych, etc.) and either loved or hated depending on who the love interest is… (Supernatural, season 1, Dean and Cassie). Fans can be so mean… Still, since season 5 I’m dealing with the changes. It was a fun season, but not the best. I hope the new is even better!
