New On DVD/Blu-ray/VOD Today - "Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest"

Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest, which enjoyed a limited theatrical run over the summer, grossing just over $1.1 million in ticket sales, is not out on Blu-ray and DVD for those who missed its big screen release.

The 1-disc package comes with all kinds of special bonus features, including:

Commentary with Director Michael Rapaport, Bringing Beats to Life On the Red Carpet at the Los Angeles Film Festival Premiere, Group Dynamics, Will A Tribe Called Quest Make More Music?, and A Message From Zulu Nation Featuring Mike G of Jungle Brothers.

Reportedly shot over a period of about 2 years (including interviews with various hip-hop luminaries, music, and behind–the–scenes footage of the group on tour, and more), the film made its debut at the 2011 Sundance in January, which is where I first saw it, and later reviewed on the old S&A site HERE.

Sony Pictures Classics picked up the film, and began rolling it out in theaters in July.
