Director Anthony Hemingway Gets Emotional About "Red Tails" & The Tuskegee Airmen

I heard that there's a test screening of the film tonight, here in NYC, but I don't have any passes to attend. It's not a press screening, but an audience test screening. I know at least one person who's going. If anyone else reading this is, let me know. I'd love to get some super early reactions to the film, preferably several and diverse.

In the video below, director Anthony Hemingway expresses his appreciation for the real Tuskegee Airmen, and their contributions to the movie. There are even a few short clips from the film included.

Red Tails opens January 20, 2012.

Very nice.

It's nice that he seems to have showed a great deal of respect for the men that inspired the film. I really hope that the actors and "actors" are true to the time and don't try to infuse it with a lot of contemporary flavor. In other words I hope they don't sound like they fell out of rap video. These men are all very well spoken and carry themselves with a great deal of dignity.

That's not a knock against rap music by the way.

I have every intention of giving this film a chance.
