HBO Teams with Sports Illustrated, Endgame & Playground for Sport in America: Our Defining Stories - Submit Yours

HBO, Sports Illustrated and Endgame Entertainment, in association with Playground for Sport in America have teamed up for “Sport in America: Our Defining Stories,” a documentary series set to air on HBO in 2013. Their goal: “a sweeping cross-platform examination of how the universal thread of sport has shaped America’s character.” HBO Sports exec producer Rick Bernstein says: “This is one of the most ambitious sports projects that HBO has launched.” Sports Illustrated editorial packages and content on HBO and SI’s social media platforms will accompany the series.

Endgame’s James D. Stern and Adam Del Deo (“Every Little Step”) will direct and exec produce alongside Playground’s Colin Callender and Time Inc. Sports Group editor Terry McDonell, who adds: “We are proud to be working on a project that reflects sport and the human spirit, a connection that speaks directly to who we are.”

The filmmakers want you to be involved, too. Starting today, you can record and submit videos in which you discuss your favorite sports memories. Select fan videos will be included in the series. More info here.

I wrote a story about football player Ben Agajanian, I wrote the story to submit him into the NFL Hall of fame for 2013.
Ben received a football scholarship in 1940 to play football for UNiversity of New Mexico, He was doing great until his toes were cut off in an elevator accident his first year in college. He was a kicker and the toes were cut off his kicking foot. Most people would have given up their dream to kick again but not Ben! He came back , he kicked further, He went on to play pro football for 22 years, he literially changed the football game with his courage and perserverence. Bootin Ben became the very first "specialist in football. He changed the way the game is played . He is the only football player to play in all 4 leagues, 17 different teams in 22 years. He is now the 5th oldest surviving football player. However, He is a forgotton football legend.
Ben was in 4 championships, Coach Lombardi and Ben had an understanding, Lombardi wanted the best, Ben gave him his best, they won 2 championships together (New York 1956 then again in 1961 with the Green Bay Packers.) This story is awe inspiring and will someday be a major motion picture.
