So, That New Indiewire Design. What’d You Think of It?

So, That New Indiewire Design. What'd You Think of It?

You may have noticed: Indiewire launched an all-new design last week. And we’d love to know what you think of it.

One of the driving forces in the design was creating a lot more transparency for our content. The site’s last significant redesign was in 2008; since then, IW developed a sizable blog network that allowed us to bring in many more voices and perspectives and more than doubled our site’s content.

Meanwhile, the core IW also continued to grow. (We just passed our 20,000th post today.) And while all of the content on IW was accessible, it wasn’t necessarily visible. That’s what we wanted to change.

So we did. And now we’d like to know what you think of it. How do you feel about seeing this range of content? Are you able to find what you want? Anything you’d like to see more of — or less?

Because this is the other thing that we built into the site’s design: We can continue to evolve it. And your feedback will go a long way toward informing how we do that.

Leave your thoughts in the comments, on Twitter (@indiewire) or email us — or We read everything.

You should consider not allowing people to post anonymously. People should stand by their comments like your writers stand by their stories. Let's leave the snarky anonymous comments on Deadline.

Well, I think its great…..
Sorry, pretentious snobs.
Job well done !

What has been dubbed the "floating share bar" seems to have been designed to induce peripheral vision epilepsy. I hate it, my optic nerve hates it. Hasty burial, please.

You guys need an app! Site is still painful to read on the iPhone

I like it a lot, really. Wish it's gonna become more beautiful day by day, and look forward to reading more awesome blogs and articles. All the best, xo

Floating share bar is enough to make me stop visiting the site.

Its on the right track but needs to be more focussed on how it functions on mobile devices, especially tablets. The site works well on my laptop but is not that approachable on my iPad.

Layout is nice, but the share bar is literally the most annoying thing on any website I regularly. Extremely distracting, and makes it impossible to read the actual content. Honestly, I'll stop coming to IndieWire just to avoid it, probably not what you intended.

I like it a whole lot, but also find the "share" bar irritating. I resize my window to cut it off. Other than that, I find it's a lot easier to find what I'm looking for & get a glance at the day.

I like it–clean and easy to read.

The floating share bar is a bit distracting when scrolling through an article.

I like it, I like it. Easy access, the world is complicated enough.

Layout is everything and you laid out the old for the new – Touche, nice layout.

The new site is awesome. Much cleaner layout that really suits the site, articles and bloggers very nicely. Also, the new logo is waaaaaaay better than the old logo.

Mike McCurdy

It looks really good…neat and fresh looking. I hated that ad that kept scrolling over every article you read.

I don't like it. Everything is too spread out and I have to scroll a lot to see the headlines.

Alex Carlson

I really like it.

The only issue that I face is that the floating box with the share buttons to the left of posts gets cut off when I view it on my Mac. I think it's because the center column is a fixed width instead of a percentage width.

Other than that, it's good stuff!
