The Racial Draft: Can We Trade Herman Cain For Ang Lee Or Steven Spielberg?

Every now and then, when I come across a black media figure that makes me want to pull my hair out, I think…”Wow, where’s the racial draft when you need it?”  If you’re not familiar with the “racial draft,” it was a popular–and completely hilarious–skit on the Dave Chappelle show where famous icons were traded amongst racial groups.  Today, I would like to nominate Herman Cain.  Do I really need to tell you why?  Probably not.

In keeping with the theme of this blog, Steven Spielberg and Ang Lee are filmmakers I have great respect for and, based on their past work, would certainly be great assets and worth trading Cain for.  Now I realize, it’s not exactly a fair trade but who said anything about being “fair”?

Anyway, I’m sure I’m not the only one with a list.  Who would you like to trade and for which filmmaker?

I'll swap Hermin(monster) Cain for bombastic-congolese director-Djo Tunda Munga, i know he's new on the scene, but in the hell cares..:)

I'll ta ke George Clooney or Zhang Yimou

Staying with the political figure for filmmaker formula set by Cynthia, my nominations are:
1) Zack Snyder (300, Sucker Punch, Watchmen) for Condoleeza Rice. Snyder's hit or miss, but Black film needs a good, exciting visual director. Rice is still "Ride or Die" for the Bush administration so it's a win all around.

2) Martin Scorcese for Larry Elder. Scorcese's best days as a director are probably behind him, but we get Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, and Raging Bull by default. Elder's not really a politician, but just listen to his radio show. This dude…

OMG, get outta my head I was thinking the same thing the other day LOL.
