Watch 2 Clips From Dee Rees' "Pariah" + Share Your Own Pariah Stories...

2 brand spanking new clips from Pariah, Dee Rees' feature directorial debut, based on her award-winning short film of the same name, that centers on a Bronx teen forced to choose between losing her best friend or destroying her family, as she juggles conflicting identities, all in a desperate search for sexual expression.

The film stars Adepero Oduye, Pernell Walker, Kim Wayans in a rare dramatic role, Charles Parnell, and Aasha Davis.

Focus Features will initially open the film across select theaters in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, and then expand soon after throughout the winter.

Myself, Sergio and Wendy have all seen it, and gave it a consensus thumbs up – and that doesn't happen very often, so you know what that means. See it when it opens!

Watch the 2 clips below (courtesy of After Ellen and She Wired), and underneath them, you'll find a 3rd video featuring Dee Rees briefly sharing her own personal pariah story, and requestingalso  that you share yours.

What does nobody any good is to pretend an issue is afflicted by a few rotten apples. Homophobia is a disease among blacks, and should be addressed. However, Keeping it Real could've said "I hope the black community embraces this irregardless of beliefs that fail to serve us. Perhaps this film will open a dialogue to bring about that change."

I will be suprise if the black community embrace this! We all know that the majority of blacks (especially religious ones)are homophobic! I want nothing but the best for this film.

I hope this movie gets the praise it appears to deserve! I can't wait for it.
