Watch: Shia LaBeouf's Violent 'Man Bites Dog' Aping Short Film 'Maniac' Starring Kid Cudi

Shia LaBeouf: actor, street fighter and director, too. The temperamental star has been making headway into a directing career, and in the past year has delivered the Alejandro JodorowskyinspiredBorn Villain” with collaborator Marilyn Manson, as well as the video “Marijuana” for Kid Cudi. Well, LaBeouf has reteamed with rapper for another, uh, cinematic journey.

Appropriately entitled “Maniac,” this 10-minute short is more or less a remake of “Man Bites Dog,” the notorious French faux-documentary that followed the exploits of a serial killer. The rapper stars alongside Chris Palko (aka Cage) as a murderous duo, in the film that tracks them across a snowy winter evening killing spree, maiming and causing general mayhem around the city as a camera crew follows them. It’s actually quite impressively lensed by LaBeouf, but also sort of entirely pointless and scuzzy, the actor does have a strong command behind the camera, though. Kid Cudi handles the soundtrack duties as well.

Needless to say, this is pretty disturbing in spots and totally NSFW, but if you’re curious you can watch it below. [via Shadow & Act]

Thnx for posting. Wow, wanted to like it, but it’s just bad. Loved Man Bites Dog but this is child’s play. Poorly executed senseless crap

derivative crap. Glass is right, the Justice video is infinitely better.

Dudes go around town acting like maniacs for a song called Maniac…Clever…NOT!!!! Plus where dat bangin beat at!

As if the world needed further proof that Shia LaBeouf is a massive douchebag. Awful, awful stuff.

Shia, show me on the doll where the bad man touched you.

I’ll take the Justice “Stress” video over this. But it’s not bad.
