It's been a big week for "Like Crazy" star Felicity Jones. On Monday, the British beauty beat out some fierce competition (including "Martha Marcy May Marlene"'s Elizabeth Olsen) to snag Best Breakthrough Performance. And on Thursday, the National Board of Review awarded her with their Breakthrough Performance award (she tied with "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"'s Rooney Mara).
IW chatted backstage with Jones shortly following her win at the Gothams, where she seemed genuinely surprised by her coup. We asked her how the experience of winning her first Gotham compared to her time at Sundance earier this year where she won Best Actress.
"Well I wasn't there (Sundance)!," she said. "This is the only awards ceremony which I was present, which is just awesome. I was praying that I wouldn't win because I didn't have anything prepared to say. But it's really exciting. I said something awful and disastrous and now I have to recover from the embarrassment."
Lucky for her, she has a long time to prep for her speech at the National Board of Review Awards. They take place on Jan. 10.
