John Boyega, "Shame" And A Few More Among London Film Critics Circle Nominees

The London Film Critics Circle nominations were announced today, and John Boyega of Attack The Block was nominated for a Young British Performer Award for his lead role in the film.

Joe Cornish, who directed the film, was also nominated for a Breakthrough British Filmmaker Award, as was Richard Ayoade for his film Submarine.

Octavia Spencer was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for The Help, and Steve McQueen’s Shame was nominated for Best British Film, Best ActorBest British Actor and the Moet and Chandon Best Actress awardsthough McQueen himself did not get a nomination for best director. 

Dreams of a Life also got a nomination for Best Documentary.

The Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday January 19th at the BFI Southbank in London.

Umm…, errr…, Sergio you must be tired. Last I checked Octavia BUTLER is a sci-fi writer that passed away some years ago. You mean Octavia Spencer, right?


FINALLY saw ATTACK THE BLOCK and damnit if that boy is not Denzel's seed LOL He looks just like him man. But seriously, it was a fun movie & the kids really raised the bar of it, especially John. Congratz to him!
