"Mama I Want To Sing" Coming Out On DVD In February

I completely forgot there was film version made based on the long running "urban" play Mama I Want to Sing.

The film barely got any kind of theaterical release, if any at all.

But for those of you still waiting for it, it's finally coming out on DVD, just in time for Valentine's Day, Feb 14, 2012, through Fox Home Video Entertainment.

Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright and starring Ciara, Lynn Whitfield, Patti LaBelle, Hill Harper and Ben Vereen, I really don't need to tell you what the plot is all about, since you can look at the trailer yourself – one of those trailers THAT TELLS YOU THE ENTIRE DAMN FILM FROM BEGINNING TO END!

This was an awesome movie. It made me cry and laugh. I must have this movie in my library.

one of the worse/worst? movies i've ever seen. #brainfart

I actually tracked this movie online just to see what the fuss was about, and partly because there were so many other good actors in it that I felt Ciara alone couldn't be its downfall. Well, I can't remember anything from the movie, but I remember it was terribly horrendous.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ciara can not sing!! This is a singing movie!!!! Nor can she act!!! Won't be watching!

Did anyone see that the Hollywood Reporter called this film a 4 Alarm meltdown and the had the nerve to put it at the end of the trailer as if it was praise?!!! LOL!!!

Mama, I don't think I want to see this.

Why does the younger Ciara look NOTHING like Ciara? :/

How will they explain her voice degrading over time? Little Ciara has way better pipes than big Ciara. I knew this was going to be a bad movie, but I'm saddened to see how poorly shot it was on top of that.
