Mario Van Peebles and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson Drama "All Things Fall Apart" To Air On BET This Saturday Night

Right on the heels of its inclusion on Tambay's Black Cinema *Hot List* Revisited post, we've learned that the Mario Van Peebles directed All Things Fall Apart, starring Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, will air on BET, Dec. 3 @ 9:30PM.

A few months ago, it was announced that the U.S. rights to the film had been acquired by Image Entertainment, with a possible early 2012 theatrical release.

Well, scratch that, and set your DVRs to record All Things Fall Apart when it airs this weekend.

The film, which also stars Lynn Whitfield, Tracey Heggins, and Ray Liotta, tells the story of a Heisman-bound college football star (Jackson) whose career hits a wall when he is diagnosed with a tumor only inches from his heart.

I really enjoyed this movie. I Feel EVERYONE did a great job. Kudos!!!

Eric Robinson

I believe the movie shows that 50 can do more than gangster films, I think the film is great!!!

Ghost

I don't listen to 50's music either. What I think Duncan was saying is why cast some rapper over a young actor like a Sean Nelson or Nate Parker.

The issue is you have a faction of folks that only care about a name. They won't even look at the movie summary if they don't know who the cast is.

50 might have been the best for the role. Other actors might not have been interested or available. Remember there are a lot of black acotrs that don't want to do black films.

Okay, I saw this movie about a month ago and I have to agree with Cynthia, 50 cents did not do a bad job. In fact, he was one of the better performers. However, overall the movie was campy. I blame that on the director Mario Van "B-Line actor" Peebles. Besides, I do not understand what Cuncan Manutz is talking about – HERE–> (If we stop watching and supporting this Bull, maybe we will start getting Quality Black Actors, I cant be the only one that's sick and tired of seeing rappers trying to be actors when there are Hundreds Real Black Actors starving for work)??? Heck, a couple of our seasoned black actors dropped the ball in this one. But again, what does a persons musical background ( I don't even listen to his music ) have to do with anything?!

Duncan Manutz

I'll pass…, I don't even listen to his music. If we stop watching and supporting this Bull, maybe we will start getting Quality Black Actors, I cant be the only one that's sick and tired of seeing rappers trying to be actors when there are Hundreds Real Black Actors starving for work. Instead of grooming rappers to become actors let's use Real Actors, what a concept.

Quentin

Damn… What happened? No theatrical?

Cynthia Reid

Interesting. I'll be watching.
