T.I. and Tiny’s Reality Show Pulls In Big Numbers for VH-1

T.I. and Tiny's Reality Show Pulls In Big Numbers for VH-1

VH-1’s new reality series T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle pulled in some really big ratings and a whole lot of viewers for the network.

The show, which features the rapper (I’ve lost count. Is he currently in jail or out? He keeps going back and forth), his odd looking wife (Go ahead and jump on me. You all know it’s true, but afraid to say it), his family life, and chronicles his attempts to return to his music career, premiered Monday with two back to back episodes; the first pulling an estimated 4.3 million viewers, while the second episode did slightly, better drawing 4.5 million viewers.

That’s especially impressive compared to VH-1’s other big hit show Basketball Wives which, on average, pulls in around  2.6 million viewers.

The success of the show helped VH1 become the top-ranked cable network among the adults 18-49, and women 18-49, with the exception of sports networks such as ESPN.

I think maybe Oprah needs to sign T.I. and Tiny up for a show on her OWN Network.

On one of your shows I saw you were teaching your kids about giving. I was wondering if you in Tiny would take the time out to view some of my kids talents, and maybe produce them shout outs from the New orleans people show some love you can contact me at (504)564-8458 I admire what your doing as a father in a black man keep up the good work!

Kathy Patterson

Wonderful to see reality TV showing parents teaching their children the proper way they should go. May you have many years on the air. Would love to see Major grown. He's a piece of work. LOL

Kathryn Atkins

I seriously enjoy watching your show. However, I have one question about Messiah not having more verbal involvement. He is very handsome, looks like you T. I. and it seems that more emphasis could be placed on him at some point.

Why is everyone commenting on what this man wrote? He wrote the truth. She is odd looking, what the heck in all honesty she is ugly. What I do admire is that they appear to love each others very much and T.I. doesn't care what people say about her. Love is blind and he sees a beautiful women.

I dont have cable but i plan to watch this soon i love T.I

Chele Belle

Don't have cable…and I don't plan to download episodes so I'll not be watching this spectacle. That said I am intrigued at how petty, nasty and infantile people get about Tiny and her relationship with T.I. She has endured much in terms of his failure to NOT stay in trouble with the law. And in turn he seems to want to play the role of devoted husband to offset any past or future legal failings. Would it be better if she was 'pretty'…or 'fine'? Either way.

It's true. She's odd-looking and trust, that's not just being said by Sergio. And I go here to learn what's going on the world of Black cinema and not to feel like I'm a seasoned intellectual. Diversity in the expressions of the writers on this blog I think will make it more successful.

"just know [CareyCarey]you can not lecture anyone about shame" ~ TROLLHUNTRESS

Again Mr or Mrs. TROLLHUNTER, that's not true. Listen, as ARTBIZZY so eloquently stated "free speech is awesome and being PC all the time can get fake and boring so I can appreciate at times someone saying something not so cool because they can" I Troolhunter, or whatever your real name is, try to stay as honest as I can to myself and the words I write. Now, since I am not a seasoned writer (I write like I talk) it's safe to say my words can be interpreted incorrectly. And, as you know, some folks just love to twist sh*t for their own selfish agenda. So I am suggesting a person can only be embarrassed and shameful if they believe they've committed a grievous error. Consequently, even if what you said was true (referring to Monique and I, which it is not) regardless, I can speak about "Shame" all day long. I mean, look at it like this. If your breath stank like a sewer, could you offer another person a stick of gum if their breath smelled like a pot of chitterlings? And, would you consider that a wrongful deed or shameful act? I wouldn't. I would view that as a helping hand.

Guess I'm the only one who's noticed that Sergio's actually been turning down the snark for a while. I think the same thing applies here like watching an episode of the Boondocks: if you're easily offended, don't watch… in this case, don't read. If you've been around a while, you know how he is. If you want to have a serious conversation about this reality show, do it. Frankly, I had no idea who these people were until I googled them and found their mug shots. Worse things could've been said.

I'd bet Sergio farts at the dinner table. I mean damn, talking about another man's wife is a new low. Seriously, I know you adore controversy and "hits" may be one of your major goals but are there no lines that you will not cross? And is there absolutely no shame in your game?

I have to agree with Artbizzy, unnecessary personal attacks on people or their spouses lowers the site. Many people look to this blog for intellectual conversation on the topic of film in regards to people of african descent. While your comment wasn't particularly malicious it was juvenile, mean-spirited and worst of all added nothing of merit to the overall all conversation about "us" in media. I appreciate that you like to shock people for shock sake but I'm sure your main goal is to make sure high quality films by people of African descent are getting made and recognized. When you engage in that type of discussion it definitely takes away from your message. That's unfortunate because you have useful knowledge and a great burgeoning platform to share it on. I'm neither a fan of "reality" TV or this couple so I won't be watching this.

You can say odd looking, fine. But that is not said about all the odd looking Africans on this site.

Serigio is so rude! How do your spouse look? It don't make sense for someone to be so damn nasty! Grow the hell up!

I know that this is a blog and we can speak freely but….before you comment about someone's wife you should ask yourself if you would make the same comment if she and her husband were standing in front of you. The above post has nothing to do with her appearance. It's easy to be a paper or computer tiger.

I hope people don't jump on you for that "odd looking" comment because the girl looks like Miss Piggy. And I'm not joking at all when I say that.

I'm not ashamed to say that I actually tuned in…and enjoyed it! Yep, sure did. :D
