Watch Episode 1 Of Don Cheadle’s New Showtime Series “House Of Lies” Before Its Official Debut Date

Watch Episode 1 Of Don Cheadle's New Showtime Series "House Of Lies" Before Its Official Debut Date

Don Cheadle’s new dark comedy TV series for the Showtime network, titled House Of Lies (based on the book House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time by Martin Kihn) stars Cheadle as Marty, a highly successful, cutthroat consultant who will use any means (or anyone) necessary to get his clients the information that they want.

Showtime picked up the pilot and ordered 12 episodes of the series which will make its official debut on the network this SundayJanuary 8th2012, at 10PM; but Showtime has made the season premiere episode available on YouTube, as likely all part of its overall marketing strategy for the series. I embedded it at the bottom of this post.

Heroes alum, Dawn Olivieri, plays Monica, Marty’s “crazy, pill-popping ex-wife and biggest professional competition, as her consulting firm is No.1, compared to Marty’s No. 2.”

And, Glynn Turman, last seen in Burlesque and Takers, will co-star, playing Cheadle’s father.

Don recently signed a 1-year first-look deal with Showtime, under which he and his producing partners will develop and executive produce series projects for the cable channel.

While we wait to see what other tricks he has up his sleeve, here’s episode 1 of House Of Lies:

Show is great!

WTF – it's a TV show. Quit taking it so F@#^&($ serious.

I just saw that episode….. I need a shower and a trip to church to pray for forgiveness.

Interacial gay preteen son? Somewhere out the creators of Glee, Boondocks and Degrassi are kicking themselves for not doing it first!

Waiting for the DVD set now…

It saddens me. There used to be a time when I could look at the the black and white cultures and see dignity. We used to have an integrity to ourselves now I can't tell. We are doing everything in our power to become like them and it shows in our entertainment. A cross dressing little mixed boy? Sad…

A little over the top but entertaining nonetheless. Not bad and as the season goes on it should get better.

White Guy in SF

This series uber post-racial. Don Cheadle is a wealthy management consultant that has great sex with beautiful women of all races. He also has an interracial gay son. Wake up people…. We voted for Obama. Give the series a chance. This guy could be the new Cliff Huxtable. YES WE CAN 2012! Don't be Afraid of Post-Blackness….

Mustafa Jackson

Pure unadulterated Garbage!

Darla & Mark

A pure bore, silly boring childish dialogues and situations, scenes don't connect, no reason why an action took place, I could go on but who am I to criticize , Showtime order 12 more episodes.

Who is he trying to be Don Draper, Gordon Gekko?

Megalyn Echikunwoke is sexy.

I watched the episode.

I love Don Cheadle. I mean I really, really love me some Don Cheadle but I don't know about this show. It's like they're trying too hard to push buttons instead of relying on good writing, good acting, etc. (Homeland has spoiled me.)

I'll probably watch again because I want to support Don. Hopefully it will grow on me.

Sidenote: If I were a black actor, I would focus on cable television. That's where all the diversity and risk-taking seems to be outside of the indies.
