Brit Noel Clarke Joins Cast Of J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" Sequel

It was just a day or so ago that I posted an entry on Brit rennaisance man Noel Clarke’s plans to head west to Hollywood, and plant some roots, with some studio projects in the works that he’s involved with, though he didn’t name any titles, or names.

Well, it looks like this might be one of who-knows-how-many of those Hollywood productions he’s attached to in some manner.

Variety is reporting that the actor/writer/director/producer/playwright/etc has been cast in J.J. Abrams’ sequel to the successful 2009 Star Trek movie, currently known strictly as Star Trek 2.

No word on what character he’ll play, whether he’ll be human, or behind a whole bunch of makeup and prosthetics that we don’t even recognize him, or…

Although Variety says he’ll play a family man with a wife and kid. So I guess we can take that to mean he’ll be human :)

The film, which Zoe Saldana should also be returning to in her role as Uhura, is scheduled for release on May 17, 2013, likely after being post-converted to 3D, Abrams himself previously stated.

Since they mentioned his family-he will either be

1) a guy who is trying to protect his family from the villian and needs Kirk's help

2) The Villian (who gets a change of heart) with a family

3) Someone who gets killed trying to save the crew or stayed at his post like Scotty's nephew in Wrath of Khan.
4) Or he's Dr. Boma. Since Boma was the only black guy in the Original series that had semi big parts in the series.

He got to have some major part in the movie if you are mentionig his family.
