We love Hebe!!!
Besides being immensely talented in our film biz and festival world she is one of the people who make our travel and film festival / market life bearable with her lovely smiling face and smart presence so many places we go.
Her taste and film sense is tops as well.
Palm Springs, LA Film Festival (and until recently Sundance) are (were) lucky to have her.
On January 13th in Palm Springs, California Assembly Member V. Manuel Pérez honored Hebe Tabachnik during a special presentation at the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival. Tabachnik has curated the Festival’s Ciné Latino program for the last three years and received the honor at the Annenberg Theatre.
“I am honored to recognize Ms. Hebe Tabachnik for her work to build a greater appreciation of and a growing audience for Iberoamerican filmmaking in the U.S.,” said Pérez. “Ms. Tabachnik is building bridges of understanding between filmgoers here and the many different countries and cultures embraced through the Ciné Latino showcase at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.”
Hebe is currently the Feature Film Iberoamerican Programmer for the Palm Springs and Los Angeles Film Festivals, and the Short Film Programmer for the Los Angeles Film Festival. For over a decade, she has been a film curator and has participated as a juror, project evaluator, and panelist at film festivals in the United States, Mexico, Chile, Columbia, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and China.
