In The Works: Farmiga and Eckhart to Play Dennis Wilson & Christine McVie in 'The Drummer'

Aaron Eckhart and Vera Farmiga will star in “The Drummer,” about Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson and Fleetwood Mac singer-songwriter Christine McVie. Randall Miller is directing and sharing the producing duties with scripter Jody Savin and Rad Rosenberger. The story follows Wilson and McVie during their “passionate and tumultuous” six-year relationship prior to Wilson’s death in 1983. Fleetwood Mac’s “Hold Me” was co-written by McVie, and said to be inspired by her relationship with Wilson (watch the music video below). Miller says the combo of Eckhart and Farmiga (which will include musical duets) “will be pure magic.” Shooting is set to kick off in June. Here’s more.

Next up for Farmiga is “Safe House” (February 10). Eckhart has finished shooting Philipp Stölzl’s “The Expatriate” and is in production on Peter Pan adaptation “Pan,” with director Ben Hibon and co-stars Sean Bean, AnnaSophia Robb and Terence Stamp.
