Live action and animation production company Kickstart and animation studio Titmouse are pooling their resources in order to expand their artist talent pools and production capabilities as they produce animated TV and film fare.
Kickstart (not to be confused with indie funding site Kickstarter) is based in both Los Angeles and Vancouver, which offers Canadian labor tax incentives and co-production treaties. The two companies have worked together for over ten years. Kickstart's recent slate includes “Voltron Force,” “Wolverine and The X-Men,” “Speed Racer” and "Wanted" (pictured, with Angelina Jolie).
Kickstart's Jason Netter says: “This collaboration will combine the top artists from both studios, making us a greater force to be reckoned with.”
Titmouse is based in Los Angeles and New York; its current series include “Metalocalypse,” “Venture Brothers,” “Superjail!,” “Motorcity,” “Black Dynamite” and more.
Titmouse's Chris Prynoski says: “In Canada they like to drink booze as much as us American animators. That’s okay in my book. It makes the picture drawing better.”
