S&A Live Podcast Returns This Sunday: We'll Discuss "Red Tails," Spike Lee, Idris Elba + The Oscars

The S&A live podcast show returns from break this Sunday at 3:00pm/est and we plan to bring it back with a BANG!  For starters, our format will be less "formal" so be prepared to expect the unexpected.  In addition, we'll integrate more of your comments in our conversations.  We've been reading ALL of them and it's obvious you guys have a lot to say…that's a good thing!  Let's face it, we all love black cinema and should talk about it a lot more.  In fact, we really anticipate more of you joining us this season…the more the merrier!

On Sunday's show (January 29th on Blogtalk Radio HERE) we'll cover the hottest topics on S&A now:

Red Tails.  Was it really a success and, if so, is it due to Tyler Perry endorsing it?  Did the "black films will become extinct" rhetoric help or hurt the film?

-Spike Lee.  Reviews were mixed regarding his new film Red Hook Summer, will folks still support this film no matter what?  Also, why does his outspokenness bother so many people?

-Idris Elba.  He was nominated for a Golden Globe recently so what does this mean, if anything, regarding his career?

-The Oscars.  Yes, we bemoan them every year but we'll try to make some predictions.  We'll also discuss if winning will advance the careers of Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer.

Remember, you can call in at (347) 215 – 8777 and join the conversation as well as log into the Blogtalk chat room.  By the way, it's only an hour show so come early.  See ya Sunday at 3:00pm/est!

Can't wait…to listen in and maybe comment ;)

Great timing (those are some hot topics) and I missed the podcast. Welcome back!

About time! I'm gonna do my best to be a "live" regular and contributor rather than getting in a couple days after. Especially when there's plenty to talk about… Hope Tambay gets on and shares more insights on his Sundance trip.

About time! I've been replaying the old shows and fiendishly awaiting the return of the podcast.
