VH-1’s “Single Ladies” Looking for “Hot” and “Matron” Extras

VH-1's "Single Ladies" Looking for "Hot" and "Matron" Extras

VH-1’s popular show Singles Ladies will soon start shooting new episodes later this month in Atlanta, and they need extras for its upcoming season; in particular, women who are hot or matronly.

Now wait, that’s not me saying that. That’s exactly what they say.

According to the casting dept., they’re currently: “searching for super attractive, sexy, hot African American women ages 25-35 height and weight proportionate.” (Why do I get the feeling what they mean is light skinned women with long straight yaki weaves?)

And they ask that if you fit the bill then to: “e-mail three photos and your dimensions along with contact information to Put “HOT” in the subject line.”

But not to despair. If you don’t fulfill the requirements they also need: “high society matron types ages 45-60″ who can work Jan. 23 and Jan. 27. These extras need glamourous wardrobes and a confident style. If that’s you email three photos and all your specs to Put “MATRON” in the subject line”

So what happens if you’re neither hot nor a matron? I guess you’re out of luck.

Single ladies extra Matron

Huuuum, you know they are doing great things with plastic surgery and makeup ( and yak-back-hair), so although I am not a super attractive, sexy, hot African American women ages 25-35 height and weight proportionate, I hear the call and I see an open seat on the playing field. Hell, I am fat, dark skinned and I'm a dude… BUT… all goodbyes are not gone. See, I'm thinking that with the current popularity of web-series such as "Sh*t Black Girls Say" and "Sh*t Black Guys Say", there has to be a role for a Rupaul type? Come on now, we all know that for some strange reason black chicks are comfortable around sissie acting dudes who dress in drag, so tick tock, the game is not locked. Listen, this is "Single Ladies" and some dudes dressed in drag can turn a man's head and get a date to the Slip & Slide Hotel :-(. I mean, I don't know what they are going to get or do when the big surprise leaps out of his hiding place, but I'm just saying… considering the current tone of black sitcoms and the acceptance of men in drag, I hear the bells calling.
