Jim Brown Biopic In Development. Who Should Play Him?

Jim Brown Biopic In Development. Who Should Play Him?

Producer Hal Lieberman (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Vacancy) has acquired rights to football legend/actor Jim Brown’s life story for a feature film that will be written by Bob Eisele (The Great Debaters) and directed by Jonathan Hock, (primarily a director of documentaries like Lost Son Of Havana and Michael Jordan To The Max).

The package is being shopped around currently, according to Deadline.

I’ve been a fan and follower of his career over my lifetime, and there is 50 years of history under his belt,” Lieberman said.

Given the credits of the above trio (producer, writer, director) I’m not really sure what to expect here.

So here’s the million-dollar question: who should play Jim Brown? What young black actor can properly work this?

Or better yet, who will play a young Raquel Welch when they reenact the making of 100 Rifles :)

No word on when we can expect to see this. Lots still has to happen before a single frame is shot.

Actor Cassius Willis. Over 6ft tall and is a dead ringer for Jim Brown. Seen in many tv shows and commercials. Most recently the show REVENGE.

Easy Eva Mendes for Raquel Welch.

Anthony E.

Anthony Mackie, in the picture you posted his visage shines through and looks so much like him in this photo.

Me….Damnit LOL

Derek Luke

So hard to cast such a larger-than-life figure (and who could match the physical presence).

I agree with Nique, mostly everyone whose been mentioned is too old for the part.

get these nets

in fact..MJW did play a composite of Brown/The Hammer/ Jim Kelly in Black dynamite

get these nets

Michael Jai White physically is the first name that pops up…

Tian Richards

Chiwetel Ejiofor or Lamman Rucker.

It has to be an unknown. Everyone is either too old, too small, or not good looking enough. I would love to see this film. Jim Brown is more significant than Ali.

NO ONE could even come close to playing Jim Brown. No man is that masculine enough (especially now – black men are WAY too soft) Brown is the hard core definition of black masculinity

Hands down Lamman Rucker!

Idris Elba comes to mind. Maybe they should go with an unknown. Whoever they pick, if they do re-enact "100 Rifles", it's going to be tough to re-create that Welch/Brown chemistry. Those two were hot!

Quintin Lundy

Do they have to go young? Ving Rhames jumps out at me immediately. He could certainly play the later years.
