"Spartacus'" Peter Mensah Joins Cast Of HBO's "True Blood"

I profiled Peter Mensah in December focusing specifically on his role in the Spartacus franchise on the Starz network?

Mensah, a Ghanaian-born Brit who has actually been active since about 1995, appearing in both TV and film, may not be an immediately familiar name/face to every one, but he’s around and building; although, from a scan of his IMDB page, I’d say his role in the Spartacus series just may be his meatiest and highest profile yet. But I haven’t seen all of his work.

And it looks like he might get even more of a profile/awareness boost after he begins appearing on the HBO popular series True Blood

Mensah has been cast in True Blood in a recurring role as “Kibwe,” according to Deadline, Chancellor for the Authority. Originally from Africa, Kibwe works toward mainstreaming under Roman’s tenure.

I’m sure all of that means something to those of you who have been keeping up with the series, because I’m not a True Blood watcher, and have really only seen a little of season 1.

And for those not at all familiar with Mensah, get to know him in the clips from Spartacus below:

Gosh, he reminds me so much of Tony Todd. I keep thinking CANDYMAN each time I see him.

I hope this news doesn't mean that Peter's character will be killed off Spartacus this season. :/ Doctore/Oenomaus is one of my favorite characters on the show. Either way, congrats to Peter!

Btw Tambay, not sure if you've checked out Spartacus yet but last week's episode may just be the best thus far! You're missing out if you're not watching! ;D
