SXSW 2012 Trailer: Doc "Bad Brains: Band in DC" (Influential & Significant American Punk/Reggae Band)

Making its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival next month, the documentary Bad Brains: Bands in DC, about an underrated and influential American band that has played an ecclectic blend of punk and reggae for 30 years, is directed by Mandy Stein and Benjamen Logan.

The full synopsis reads:

Bad Brains are one of the most important and influential American bands still working today. They melded punk and reggae into an innovative style that has yet to be copied. Their impact and influence can be heard in groups like Beastie Boys, No Doubt, Nirvana, Jane's Addiction and countless more. Despite the troubles of an eccentric front man they have stayed together for 30 years without ever reaching the level of success so many think they deserve. Using rare archival footage and original comic illustrations the film re-constructs Bad Brains' rich and complicated history.

Laura,
More like Fishbone is the west coast version of Bad Brains.

The Most innovative Band Of all Times . Can' t wait to See it

Laura

Bad Brain is the east coast Fishbone in the sense that they are innovative influential but could not get the recognition they deserve simply because the industry didn't know how to market them (they're Black). Can't wait to check it out. (God, they had the baddest bass line for any punk band)
