Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña's "End of Watch" will land in theaters September 28, through Open Road. Written and directed by David Ayer (writer-director of "Street Kings," "Harsh Times"; writer of "Training Day," "The Fast and the Furious"), the film returns to the gritty streets of Los Angeles.
Gyllenhaal and Peña play LAPD officers patrolling the meanest streets of South Central Los Angeles. Unlike Ayer's earlier works, this story is told entirely through handheld HD cameras–"found footage" shot through the hands of the story's officers, gang members, surveillance cameras and civilians– putting audiences right in the line of fire where the action unfolds. Open Road says "End of Watch" is a powerful story of family, friendship, love, honor and courage. Anna Kendrick, Frank Grillo and America Ferrera co-star.
