Janet Jackson Not Joining “The X Factor” After All

Janet Jackson Not Joining "The X Factor" After All

Two weeks ago I reported that Janet Jackson had begun early talks with Simon Cowell and the producers of Fox’s The X Factor to join the show as judge when it begins its second season.

The producers approached Jackson when their original plans to start negotations with Whitney Houston fell through due to her sudden death. In fact, talks were originally planned with Houston the very week after the Grammys.

However now Jackon has taken herself out of consideration for the The X Factor gig saying tersely that “it just wouldn’t be possible” for her to join the show. So now the producers are back to square one.

Any of you have any suggestions?

Smart move, Janet.

@ Sergio. Where do you get these pictures of Janet Jackson? She looks like she's in her 50's in this photo. Come on, there got to better pictures of her.

It's nice to see that X Factor clearly wants a Black female recording artist as judge. Interesting…

Maybe Toni Braxton, if it doesn't conflict with Braxton Family Values. Too bad Khandi Burress from Exscape have that new show (it doesn't look good to me) she would have made an excellent judge as well.

I personally think Patti LaBelle would be fantastic.

I think Mariah Carey would be great. She's got the skills and experience to be a great judge and mentor plus the big personality that they need to bring in ratings.

I think Natalie Cole would be a good judge on Xfactor. Mariah Carey would also be good.
