SXSW 2012 – Watch Gabrielle Union In Trailer For Indie Couples Dramedy “In Our Nature”

SXSW 2012 - Watch Gabrielle Union In Trailer For Indie Couples Dramedy "In Our Nature"

The last time Gabrielle Union was in a theatrically released movie was in 2008’s Cadillac Records, although it feels like it’s been longer than 3+ years.

But in 2012 alone, she makes up for that hiatuas with at least 3 feature film projects – 2 that are guaranteed to be released in theaters (Think Like A Man and Good Deeds), and an indie film titled In Our Nature, which was initially titled Family Tree when we first wrote about it in May 2011.

Union costars in the indie dramedy alongside Jena Malone, Zach Gilford and John Slattery, and it’s directed by Brian Savelson, from his own screenplay.

In the film, Gabrielle plays love interest to Slattery – a father estranged from his son (played by Gilford) who accidentally wind up in the same vacation home with their two girlfriends – Union being one of them obviously; and Jena Malone being the other (the son’s).

As you can see from the trailer below, drama ensues.

The film’s official synopsis courtesy of the SXSW website, reads:

What was intended to be a romantic weekend between two lovers at a country house turns into an awkward family reckoning when the young man’s estranged father unexpectedly shows up with his new girlfriend. As their collisions mount, the weekend transforms into a turning point for all. IN OUR NATURE explores two couples on the verge of major life decisions and the fragments of a modern broken family.

In Our Nature will make its world premiere at the SXSW film festival next month, and I’ll be there to see it.

Wow, he does look to old for her–nasty. He could have been paired with Angela Bassett or somebody else. But black actors have to work with what they are given most of the times just to get a decent part.BTW, it's a myth that ALL women like older men ::))

Tara

Looks like a movie with substance, I want to see this.

The film looks great!! It's good to see more black actresses exercising their acting options beyond the typical "black Hollywood" circles.

Rosie

Looks like a great movie. Gabrielle is so beautiful and glad to see her in a positive role. What a gorgeous man and love the white hair. Good match and not too old for the younger Ms Union.

Tamara

Yes. Definitely (still) interested.

B

I think I'd like to see this. She looks like she's at least getting out of her usual element, which (let's admit it) had gotten to be fairly redundant.

Vanessa

This trailer has peaked my interest considerably.

ross

looks fresh!

charlie

He's 48, he had white hair at a young age, just like Anderson Cooper. This movie looks good and I can't wait to see Gabby in it.

Ray

I feel ya Turk, but at the same time I'm just glad to see her do something outside the norm of what she usually does.. I wouldn't mind seeing this one.

Turk

Why does Gabby have to be in a relationship with someone old enough to be her grandfather? SMH.

AI
