The Seth Rogen/Kevin Hart starrer will be set in the 1940’s, post World War II. The Paramount action comedy will pitched as the “original” buddy cop comedy, and Rogen and Hart will be the first interracial law enforcement duo.
The pair will go undercover and infiltrate the jazz scene in an attempt to bust a marihuana drug ring.
Ohh okay, this makes more sense now!
Kevin Hart is slated to co-star with Seth Rogen in a Paramount untitled cop buddy comedy, penned and produced by Rodney Rothman.
Rothman, who is the producer of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The One and Get Him to the Greek, will produce the film via his Viking Funeral company; Roger and Evan Goldberg will produce via Point Grey Pictures, and Hart will serve as executive producer via his Heartbeat Prods. company.
According to Variety, Rothman has had the idea for many years with Rogen in mind, ever since they both worked in the Fox series Undeclared.
The comedy is bing pitched as “the first interracial police pairing in law enforcement history.”
Wait…really? The first interracial pairing in law enforcement history? Haven’t we had tons of those or am I reading this wrong?
Anyways, Hart can be seen in the Screen Gems‘ comedy Think Like a Man and he also co-stars in The Five-Year Engagement.
