Watch Now: Destiny Ekaragha's Award-Winning Comedic Short "Tight Jeans"

Thanks to a comment left by S&A follower ScreenNation, I was reminded of  emerging British filmmaker Destiny Ekaragha and after some quick research, discovered her acclaimed short film Tight Jeans is now available online.

The film, which screened at the 2008 Times BFI London Short Film Festival and the 2009 Pan African Film Festival among others, made  Ekaragha an overnight success.  It won the “Rushes Soho Shorts Best New Comer” Award as well.

The synopsis:

Three black teenagers are becoming frustrated while waiting for their friend. A young white lad walks past wearing super tight jeans. The boys look on until one of them asks the pivotal question, “How can a man wear jeans that tight?” This sparks a debate about race and culture.”

Ekaragha, who directed the popular British dramedy The Future WAGS Of Great Britain, is currently developing the coming-of-age comedy Gone Too Far, with writer Bola Agbaje, which you can read about HERE.

That was excellent. Great comedy, great videography, great everything!

If your new to Destiny Ekaragha then check out her second and most critically acclaimed film 'The Park' it's just gone online 2 weeks ago and it is a fantastic piece of work, here is the link http:/&#x2F

Never understood why we could easily understand American dialects (even the strong southern ones) but you can't understand us brits. American imperialism I guess :P

OMG that was funny. Yeah, I could have used subtitles and translation too. Thanks for that.

Awwww, thats nice, glad to have led on soemthing that has appeared on the mighty glorious S&A. We're honoured. Other than the works you've quoted, we think the reason she is destined for great things comes out in her most recent short The Park, which has been on the circuit for a year or so now. Enjoy http:/&#x2F

I like this! it's funny

I love the Brits, but I need subtitles or some slang translations.
