One of my most anticipated films of 2012, Xavier Dolan’s third feature “Laurence Anyways” has dropped a gorgeous first trailer – a 3 minute, French language offering set to Moderat’s hypnotic “A New Error”:

Set in 1989 (yes, the year Dolan was born), it looks like the filmmaker characteristically had a lot of fun stylizing the film, which tells the story of a man who decides on his 30th birthday that he wants to become a woman. But it also looks like quite the emotional epic, and potentially a considerable step for Dolan in the maturation of his filmmaking and storytelling (this coming from someone who had little issue with his first two films). It hits theaters in Quebec this summer, with a Cannes debut suspected to precede that…

Awesome c'est juste formidable for Melvil Poupaud this hot french guy to portrait a transit-gender human, maybe reflects Xavier Dolan the Quebecois' vulnerable sense of himself.

Wow, thanks so much for posting this. Dolan's "Heartbeats" was my favorite film of 2012 and Melvil Poupaud is one of my favorite actors in any year. Can't wait to see this!
