Ty Hodges/Omar Epps’ Musical Drama “You, Me & The Circus” on VOD This Fall (Trailer)

Ty Hodges/Omar Epps' Musical Drama "You, Me & The Circus" on VOD This Fall (Trailer)

I’m surprised we haven’t talked much about this film/musical. We posted a teaser back in February of last year, and since then, it has screened at UrbanWorld Film Fest and a few other venues.

You, Me & The Circus, written and directed by Ty Hodges and produced by Omar Epps (Brooklyn WorksFilms), stars Hodges, Matt Dallas, Anita Briem, Melonie Diaz,  among others. It also features cameo appearances by Marlon Wayans, Omar Epps, and Columbus Short.

According to Hodges, the film will be released on VOD this fall via GoDigital.

Synopsis:

You, Me & The Circus" is a fantasy, drama, musical in the vein of some the great writer/directors of screen and stage, Frederico Fellini (8 1/2), and Bob Fosse (All That Jazz, Chicago, & Cabaret). "You, Me & The Circus" is an intimate story about four people falling in and out of love told over an afternoon of intense conversation, soul searching, and new discoveries revealed on a journey leading to an undeniable truth.

I'm intrigued by what I see. I'll keep you updated on the exact release date as it becomes available.

i actually liked video girl, i think it would prevent alot of young women from going in that direction by the brutal honesty of it. But then again I moved from atlanta and currently live in l.a so it alot more relevant to me. As for you me and the circus, im kinda excited to see it especially after Miles from Home, that movie was funny and yet so tragic. anyways whens this coming out?

This seems like something that could go either way, but I'm definitely intrigued.

Ty is so talented. I would love to wk with him one day

CRITICAL ACCLAIM

Why don't people appreciate Ty Hodges like Barry Jenkins and the like? 'Cause the white man is not all over his films. He's making movie after movie and they have been smart and well made and adventurous, I believe him to be underrated.
