The very troubled Eddie Murphy comedy A Thousand Words, which opened to terrible reviews and worse box office earlier this year, will come out on blu-ray DVD on June 26th from Paramount Home Video.
The film, as you may recall, was originally shot in 2008 for a planned 2009 release, but those plans where shelved due to dismal initial audience test preview scores resulting in the film going through extensive reshoots and re-editing.
Things weren't helped either by the studio's constant back and forth release plans for the film announcing a release date for the film, but then canceling and rescheduling it so many times that one literally lost count.
The DVD interestingly will also include 11 deleted scenes along with an alternative ending. Whether these sequences were from the original version of the film or new footage shot for the film, but never used is not known but it would be interesting to see them. Perhaps they could have made the film better (or worse).
