The Solution Entertainment Group is partnering with Pierce Brosnan's Irish DreamTime production banner in a multi-picture financing and distribution deal, and will be shopping the first title at Cannes, "November Man," directed by Australian-born, New Zealand-raised Roger Donaldson ("The Recruit," "Thirteen Days").
Brosnan and Dominic Cooper will star in the espionage thriller based on Bill Granger's "There Are No Spies," the first in a series, which is intended as a potential franchise. Brosnan will play the character Devereaux, an ex-CIA operative brought back for a personal mission that pits him against his former pupil (presumably Cooper) in a deadly game with CIA officials and the Russian president-elect. Michael Finch wrote the screenplay.
Brosnan developed the 'November Man' as a labor of love, and reunites with Donaldson ("Dante's Peak") and Cooper ("Mamma Mia!").
The Solution is handling int'l rights; CAA has domestic.
