First Look Images At Meagan Good In NBC's New Murder Mystery Series Pick-up "Infamous"

Of all the new series/pilots ordered for next season, I'll say that this is one I'm really intrigued by – partly because I have absolutely no idea what to expect from it.

It seemed like an out-of-the-box pick for NBC – one that I didn't see coming – and I'm definitely curious.

But I'm looking forward to finally seeing something of it, by way of a trailer, clips, etc, soon.

It's described as an "opulent soap" starring Meagan Good as detective Joanna Locasto, a female detective who returns undercover to the wealthy family she grew up in – as the maid's daughter – to solve the murder of the notorious heiress who was once her closest friend – celebutante Vivian Lawson.

Previously titled NotoriousNBC ordered the series and renamed it Infamous, with Laz AlonsoVictor Garber, Tate Donovan, and Katherine LaNasa co-starring.

Laz Alonso is slated to play NYPD detective Will Sacovitch, who recruits Good's character, his former flame, to team up and infiltrate the Lawson home – led by Victor Garber as Robert Lawson, and Tate Donovan as his son.

I anticipate an S&A Infamous Talkback series when the time comes…

Above and below we have our first look at stills from the new upcoming series.

I hope this show does good. We need more black women headling shows. Not just in the background.

Katie

I'm just thankful that she changed her hair and laid off the concealer in these pics.

I don't know why… But I am distracted by her eyebrows. It's somehow unusual

Well…ive been saying for a few years now that "I wish Meagan Good would put her acting skills towards something worthwhile!"…finally it seems likes shes done it. I hope the show is good, Im not a big fan of NBC shows but…I'll be tuning in this Fall :)

Well, she's an undercover maid, not an actual one. I guess that's some twisted form of progress. At least she's not an undercover hooker. Or maybe that series is in development.

"The maid's daughter? So is the Help meets Murder She Wrote?"… " The only maids I see are LATINAS"… "I mean COME ON!!!"… "how much can they really do with that storyline?"… " with an "opulent soap"! Actually — we'll see but — it should be called the Greatest Ripoff. Check this out: Change a few name, and change the local and OPPS UPSIDE YOUR HEAD… Barbara Neely's Blanche novels:

BLANCHE WHITE, she is the central character on Blanche on the Lam. She is a black woman, who is a housekeeper and cook, on the run from a jail term for a minor offense. She hides out as a domestic worker for a dysfunctional white family. According to Mildred Mickle, Blanche is "a domestic heroine, a very human, compassionate, and honest yet tricky figure. Blanche recognizes as an adult that as a black women domestic, she is "invisible", however recalling her aunt's wisdom when she was a child, she recognizes the potential power of that invisibility. This power allows her to hid from the law and conduct and cover up her investigations on the Carter family. GRACE: She plays the stereotypical white mistress role. She pays little attention to the people she trusts to run her home but hypocritically, it is because she does not see them as individuals. Blanche, however, takes advantage of Grace's ignorance by pretending to be a former employer so that she can get hired even though she has a warrant out for her arrest. She also uses her stereotype as a white gentle woman to deceive and manipulate everyone in the novel. EVERETT: He is Grace's husband. He presents himself in the eyes of Blanche as the central villain and is conspicuous from the start of the novel. His former wife mysteriously died, leading him to an inheritance. Blanche suspects the Sheriff to be blackmailing (or as she calls it "white male") Everett so that he does not tell Grace he cheated on her. The novels are mystery/crime genre. "Whether we like it or not, there is a complex relationship among the unglamorous domestic milieu, race, and the mystery/crime genre. The series continues with Blanche among the Talented Tenth (1994), Blanche Cleans Up (1998), and Blanche Passes Go (2000).

Hope Meagan succeed with this show.
