“After the Wedding”
Support 3 filmmaking sisters with their debut feature, #ATWFilm, a stylish dramedy about 1st year of marriage http://kck.st/HPRSfW
AFTER THE WEDDING is a dramedy that follows newlywed Diego Diaz as he heads to Miami to finish his novel, but when he becomes emotionally intimate with a sexy bartender, he and his wife are left to examine the true state of their young marriage.
Supporting ATW means supporting diversity in Hollywood and women in film. ATW is being made by a Latina writer/director, and features a mostly Latino cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Latinos “accounted for over $1 billion in movie ticket sales in 2008.” But sadly, Latinos are still underrepresented in front of and behind the camera.
About the Production:
“I wrote this film after I got married two years ago. At the time, I was a newlywed, and had a strong desire to see a film about marriage that was hopeful, but also honest. I also knew I wanted to make a film in my hometown of Miami, which is how the premise was born – Newlywed man goes to Miami and meets temptation. Once I wrote the script, I knew all that was left was to cast a funny man in the lead. And luckily we were able to cast Nick Puga.” — Claudia Cifuentes
