Trailer Watch: 'Gangster Squad' Stars Penn, Gosling and Brolin as Cops and Mobsters

The trailer for Ruben Fleischer's based-on-a-true-story "Gangster Squad" (which was rumored to be heading to Cannes), reveals a starry ensemble of A-listers playing cops and mobsters, led by heavily accented scene-chewers Sean Penn and Ryan Gosling. This is not surprising, given Fleischer's resume, which ranges from well-executed action comedy "Zombieland" to execrable "30 Minutes or Less." This movie could wind up anywhere between Hollywood-crime masterpiece "L.A. Confidential" and Brian De Palma's atmospheric B-noir "The Black Dahlia."

Based on the trailer, the film looks like a very youth-driven film (like "300") instead of a serious adult film; the film doesn't looks like like an Oscar film at all.
