Audiard's anti-romance "Rust & Bone" showcases Cotillard. At the Cannes Market: the deal on the Weinstein Co.'s torrid buying spree. 'Emperor,' the WWII drama with Tommy Lee Jones as General MacArthur is at the market this year, and the Wachowskis' "Cloud Atlas" screened for buyers, and Butler, Worthington, and McConaughey got funded for "Thunder Run." Elizabeth Banks stars in Alan Balls' "What's the Matter with Margie?" and more buys on 70 mm doc "Samsara." Meanwhile, James Tobruk and Alec Baldwin run amok at Cannes filming a meta-but-serious documentary on getting funding at the festival. And to wrap it up, a diary entry from a first-time Cannes attendee.
