E!'s new addition to its Sunday night line-up is "Mrs. Eastwood & Company," a show that — seriously — chronicles the wacky lives of Clint Eastwood's family in their home in Carmel, CA. It focuses on Eastwood's TV news anchor wife Dina, his teenage daughters Francesca (whose mother is Frances Fisher) and Morgan, and, weirdly, the six member South African a cappella group Overtone, who Dina manages and who provided most of the soundtrack for "Invictus."
In the promos, the show looks like a typical E! reality saga with Eastwood as the gorilla in the room — aside from one glimpse at what appears to be a public event, he doesn't show up on screen or get mentioned, as if the show came into being only because the network was very into struggling international vocal groups. "I'm really proud of my family," Eastwood says in E! announcement. "They are a constant source of inspiration and entertainment." But will he actually appear on screen? Who wouldn't want to see the screen icon and auteur grumblingly making himself breakfast in the background while Overtone does vocal warm-ups in the living room?
"Mrs. Eastwood & Company" premieres Sunday, May 20th at 10pm.
