“I’m Not Afraid, I’m Angry”: New Full Length Trailer For ‘The Dark Knight Rises’

"I'm Not Afraid, I'm Angry": New Full Length Trailer For 'The Dark Knight Rises'

Forget your morning cup of coffee — a brand new, full length trailer for Christopher Nolan‘s “The Dark Knight Rises” has just dropped. So cancel that meeting you’re supposed to attend, close the office door and turn up the speakers.

Providing a pretty nice batch of new footage, mixed with extended bits of what we’ve seen before, Warner Bros.‘ excellent campaign for the movie continues to peel back the layers while keeping all the secrets intact. What have we learned from this latest trailer? Well, Batman will get the shit severely kicked out of him by Bane (the shot of the broken mask carries much more weight here), and it’s not a shock that he winds up hobbling around with a cane. But we’d wager this is all early, first act stuff. As Bruce Wayne says later on, “I’m not afraid, I’m angry” — he’ll clearly be out to not only save the city, but himself. And oh yeah, that Hans Zimmer score sounds fantastic (listen to a healthy chunk of it here).

We’ve said enough, watch it for yourself below. “The Dark Knight Rises” opens on July 20th. [Batman-News]

Not to mention Zimmer's bombastic score.

Creamed my underwear. This looks like Nolan in full form.

My favorite shot is still the one where Batman realizes he's trapped and can't get off the catwalk, so he turns around and there Bane is just waiting for him. I think it's gonna be tough to watch Batman get his ass kicked there. Even though he says he's not afraid, we know that he is because why would he try to retreat anyway instead of just fighting Bane? He knows Bane is more powerful than him and can beat him. Fear played a big role in this trilogy starting with the bats when Wayne was younger, but in The Dark Knight we never got a sense that Batman was still just a man and could be defeated cause he just mowed over villians one thug after the other. Here it's different which is why Bane was the perfect choice for the villian in this final installment.

I am very much looking forward to TDKR, but this is by far the weakest trailer. It was great to see the second trailer on an IMAX screen, though, ahead of Prometheus.
