Kevin Durant Takes To The Screen In Trailer For Magical Family Drama 'Thunderstruck'

Well, the kids should love it.

Following in the footsteps of former NBA players like Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal, forward with the Oklahoma City ThunderKevin Durant, is starring in this ability-swapping (we could call it) upcoming feature film titled Thunderstuck.

At first I thought it was a joke, but it’s a very real film. Its trailer premiered last night on TNT, and for those who missed it, I’ve embedded it below.

The film also stars Brandon T. Jackson.

Here’s how Warner Bros describes it:

A fun and energetic family basketball movie starring Kevin Durant AS HIMSELF, a basketball star who switches talent with a klutzy 16 year old fan. When Brian, a hopelessly uncoordinated young fan magically switches talents with his hero, Kevin Durant, he becomes the star of his high school team…while Kevin Durant suddenly can’t make a shot to save his life. But with the playoffs approaching, Brian learns that being a true winner involves working hard at your own game, and he tries to make things right in time to prevent a catastrophic end to his hero’s season.

I should note that, in this year’s NBA Playoffs, Durant’s team, the Thunder swept the defending champion Dallas Mavericks in the first round to advance and face off against the Los Angeles Lakers. They defeated the Lakers in 5 games and advanced to play the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. That series went to Game 6, as the Thunder defeated the Spurs 107-99, and advanced to the 2012 NBA Finals. Durant, by the way, led the team with 34 points, playing all of regulation time in the game.

No ETA on when or where Thunderstruck will be released.
