There are few stills from a movie in the past year that captured the imagination quite like the one above for "The Amazing Spider-Man." It was one of the earliest looks at the film that Sony released and it was….curious to say the least. But with the studio currently playing the We're Going To Show You The Whole Damn Thing card in the marketing for the superhero reboot, we now get some explanation for the photo above.
The latest in what is turning out to be a never ending series of clips from the movie has arrived, and shows Peter Parker squaring off against his high school enemy/bully Flash Thompson. Scored to a cloying bouncy number from James Horner, this pretty unfunny comic relief scene has Parker using his Power Of Webz to play keepaway from Flash before dunking the ball, shattering the backboard and ruining the game for everyone else in the school. Way to go, guy. All Flash can do is look on with humiliation, but we're sure he'll try again later to beat Peter up or stuff him in a locker or something. Whatever. We guess the little kids going to see this will get a kick out of that scene.
Anyway, this arrives on July 3rd in 3D and we're still not quite sure what to make of it. [JoBlo]
