While Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have deservedly earned the lion’s share of accolades for AMC‘s fierce “Breaking Bad,” the supporting players haven’t gotten as much shine, despite being just as solid. And one of those rock solid folks has been Dean Norris aka Hank, Walter White’s brother-in-law, one time rock collecting enthusiast, who is dead set on tracking down Heisenberg. But with the show currently on a hiatus before it shoots the last eight episodes, Norris just bagged a role alongside some heavyweights in Ridley Scott‘s next film “The Counselor.”
Penned by Cormac McCarthy, the story follows an attorney (Michael Fassbender) who is in search of a big payday after he proposes to his girlfriend, Laura (Penelope Cruz). So he hooks up with Reiner (Javier Bardem), an acquaintance with deep criminal ties, for a new business proposition: they’ll take $20 million worth of cocaine from south of the border and offload it themselves, aided by the no-good Westray (Brad Pitt). Cameron Diaz is also on board as Malkina, who hooks up with Reiner. No word yet on Norris’ role, but we’d guess like any normal person, once the phone rang, he was up for whatever was offered.
Production on the movie will get underway this fall, but no release date has been set just yet. [Variety]
