Viola Davis Looks Fierce In These Set Photos From 'The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby'

Here's a look at Viola Davis on the set of her next project, The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby, which stars Jessica Chastain and James McAvoy, in a love story that explores a New York City couple's relationship during a difficult time in their marriage, from both perspectives – that of the husband (McAvoy), a restaurant owner; and of the wife, a.k.a. Eleanor Rigby (Chastain), who goes back to college.

Also in the film are William HurtIsabelle HuppertBill Hader, Ciarin Hinds, and others.

Ned Benson is directing; Cassandra Kulukundis is producing. Myriad Pictures is producing and financing, with production clearly underway in New York.

Still no word on what role Viola is playing in this; although I'm certainly hoping that she isn't relegated to the usual BBF (Best Black Friend) duties.

She looks great though! Glad she's rocking the natural cut too. Just check out at her frame and how she poses in the pic immediately below, and tell me that doesn't make you salivate, wondering just what other kinds of characters she could play on screen that she hasn't played yet.

Maybe she's a professor in the movie. (Since Chastain's character goes back to college.) She looks like she's imparting some sort of knowledge in the photos, in any case.

Donella

She's got arms like FLOTUS and Angela Bassett. Really makes you think about getting back in the gym.

Can someone get her in an innovative action flick, stat? No more "downtrodden but dignified Negro" roles, pls.

When I see Viola Davis, I think of Thelma Golden of the Studio Museum of Harlem. They favor one another, but may be differ in height. I think Viola is cute. I'm not a fan of the hair color, but I don't think she looks terrible either. Viola is known to have a sexy smile, but for some reason she's mean mugging here. Overall, I'm just proud of her. She has come a long way from her days in Rhode Island. I remember her telling a story about being denied Communion in the 1960's because she was black. She never let that stop her. She persevered and came so close to winning the Oscar. I love her and Julius together. I love that they are starting a family production company to serve as acting vehicles for both of them. That's beautiful and I wish them much success.

Dr. Boogie

I wonder how hard she'd rock with an Ethiopian burgundy-colored dye job….WERK!!!!

Gigi Young

Interesting that she and Jessica have red hair in this film. Wonder what it symbolizes.

Laura

She's fierce by way of cougarism. (She's a cougar)

Hawtine

She absolutely looks sexy. The hair, the muscle tone. If you don't see that, you really don't want to see it. Unfortunately she isn't the lead who gets to demonstrate that.

the black police

So, she is sexy huh?…

Adam Scott Thompson

Probably the "Maternal Negro" of this piece ('Sup, Oprah!).
