While making fun of reality shows has gotten so easy it has perversely become almost impossible, The Onion manages to land some solid punches in the first episode of its new YouTube-based web series "Sex House."
Parodying "The Real World" and other series that have groups of people living together with access to copious alcohol to encourage misbehavior, "Sex House" purports to bring together three men and three women for "three months of consequence-free sex" in a mansion stocked with booze and adult toys. The types are familiar — the bro, the virgin, the token homosexual dismayed to learn he's been given no one who shares his sexual preference. The genius addition? Frank, a middle-aged father of two who's there because he "won a Tombstone Pizza contest."
Check it out below. And for another online satire of dating show tropes, there's also Ken Marino's "The Bachelor" parody "Burning Love," which recently posted its finale episode.
