Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Tom Waits, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Olga Kurylenko and Abbie Cornish. With a movie featuring all of those names, that alone would get any sane person excited for a film. Now add that it’s coming from Martin McDonagh, the writer/director behind “In Bruges,” and you can understand why “Seven Psychopaths” is one of the most anticipated titles at TIFF.
Well, if the trailer for the movie wasn’t enough, seven new character posters have dropped for everybody in the film. The twisty tale centers on Billy (Rockwell), an unemployed actor and part-time dog thief who wants to help his best friend, struggling screenwriter Marty (Farrell), by any means necessary. He teams with Hans (Walken) and together they steal the beloved Shih Tzu of Charlie (Harrelson), who then goes on the hunt to find out who took his pet. This is going to be some dark, crazy comedy and we definitely can’t wait to see what this ensemble gets up to and how they play off each other. We also wonder how many puns off the word “shih tzu” there can possibly be.
“Seven Psychopaths” opens on October 12th. Get your locker door ready for the below. [The Film Stage]
