Screenwriter Ben Coccio will pen the adaptation of Pulitzer Prize finalist Greg Grandin's "Fordlandia: The Rise And Fall Of Henry Ford's Forgotten Jungle City." River Road Entertainment has acquired the writes and engaged the "Place Beyond the Pines" scribe to reimagine the 2009 book for the big screen. The book looks at the American men who built a utopian American indistrial town in the Brazilian Amazon, as part of Henry Ford's imperialistic machinations. The book's description states "Ford’s great delusion was not that the Amazon could be tamed but that the forces of capitalism, once released, might yet be contained."
River Road's Bill Pohlad will produce, with Sarah Hammer overseeing production.
