Quvenzhané Wallis Signs With ICM Partners

Quvenzhané Wallis Signs With ICM Partners

You’ll recall my July piece in which I asked what was next for Quvenzhané Wallis.

That piece inspired a few emails exchanges that taught me a few things about young Ms Wallis’ status and what options were available to her; and sothis doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

It’s been announced that one of the top talent agencies in the country, ICM Partners, has signed Quvenzhane Wallis.

As I noted in my July profile, the accolades have been virtually non-stop since the film she stars in, Benh Zeitlin’s Beasts Of The Southern Wild, bowed at the Sundance Film Festival in January, this year.

It was soon after that piece that we learned that she had been cast in Steve McQueen’s Twelve Years A Slave.

But before that film is released next year, we might see her in Frances Bodomo’s short film titled Boneshaker.

We featured Boneshaker in April.

Boneshaker centers on “a Ghanaian family, lost in America, [that] travels to a Louisiana church to cure their violent daughter.

With this new signing with ICM, let’s see where she goes next…

Saw BOSW this weekend and fell in love with her. Have been reading reviews and article on her all day. Very happy for her.

Congratulations to such an amazing, young, natural talent! If at least one of her parents resigns from their jobs to travel with her, then she will be fine. They just need to make sure at least one of them is with her at all time.

I hope this girl's parents are concerned about her future and not just looking at dollar signs. The good thing about the acting profession is there are specific rules for child actors. I think the child actors are only allowed to work for a certain number of hours per day. The child must get schooling and their money is put into a trust.

great, but children should enjoy their childhood.

SO HAPPY FOR HER! Big things are in this young girl's future.
