TIFF Trailer Watch: 'Passion,' De Palma's Bid to Escape Movie Jail

“Passion,” Brian De Palma’s remake of Alain Corneau’s 2010 French flick “Love Crime” (starring Kristin Scott-Thomas and Ludivine Sagnier), scored actresses Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace in the starring roles.

“The Untouchables” director’s latest bid to escape from movie jail (after “The Black Dahlia,” “Redacted,” “Femme Fatale” and “MIssion to Mars”) looks to combine his trademark visual flair with pulpy noir material. Both McAdams and Rapace have other movies in the hopper, Terrence Malick’s “To The Wonder,” and revenge thriller “Dead Man Down,” respectively.

The film is premiering in Venice and Toronto, and is seeking distribution to a theater and/or TV screen near you. Check out the trailer for the original and De Palma’s version below:
